Currently in pre-production; to be shot on HD in Chicago in the fall of 2010

Halloween night in a Chicago cemetery proves to be a defining moment for one teenager, who after spending the evening trick-or-treating with a best friend, witnesses the brutality of a failed romance. Inspired by Norman Rockwell’s iconic paintings of small town American life in the 20th century, Last Night in America explores two modern urban relationships, one at its youthful genesis and the other at its inevitable, ugly end. Like many of Rockwell’s images, nothing is truly as it appears to be.

In an eccentric southern town where the only church turns into the local bar at night, thirty-year-old Abe still lives with his drunkard mother Georgiana and his overly intelligent uncle. As the locals prepare to celebrate the anniversary of a miscarriage Georgiana had twenty-five years ago, Abe befriends a handsome visiting actor whom he hopes will help him get out of his hometown. Taking its inspiration from such films as Steel Magnolias and Crimes of the Heart, Pimento Cheese revamps the southern melodrama and turns it on its head.
